Layne Laboratories, Inc has been a supplier to NWRC, AZA and other member organizations for over 15 years. Our mice and rats may be bred as food for reptiles, amphibians, carnivorous birds, (and sometimes even alligators!), but they are packaged to be handled by animal care staff. That’s why we package our animals the Layne Way: All animals are euthanized in a CO2 chamber, then frozen separately on stainless steel trays with their tails tucked neatly under their bodies. After freezing they are either vacuumed sealed in heat sealed plastic bags or placed into re-closeable freezer bags and immediately shipped out. This process ensures that the animals never have freezer burn, are frozen solid, are free from urine, feces, and all odors, and that the animals are not stuck together in their packaging. Your staff will appreciate this method of packaging, and we guarantee they will be pleased with the quality and cleanliness of our animals.

We offer a variety of programs to expedite the purchasing process. We would be glad to bid for your yearly contract or you can simply place spot orders. We are CCR registered and would be happy to fill out vendor information with any federal, state, or private organization. We can accept payments electronically or through ETF if that is required.
